Project Overview

The Aquatic Center is a public facility that also is one of the training facilities for US Olympic Team The existing roof was originally installed in 1993 and was a ballasted EPDM on a steel deck that has a structural slope of ¼” per foot.  Numerous core samples revealed a failed vapor barrier with wet gypsum board, wet insulation, and moisture condensing between the membrane and the insulation.  Aquatics Center posed several challenges, the facility had to remain open to the public seven days a week, debris (shavings, screws, etc.) could not fall in the interior, the entrance was required to remain open to the public, staging was required to limited to a small section in the parking lot, delivery of materials would occur at non peak times, and parking for the contractor would be limited.

The final cost of the project was $715,000.
